Liqwid Finance is the LQ governance ecosystem for a Cardano lending and borrowing protocol where user positions are managed by smart contracts rather than a central custodian. Liqwid v2 uses Plutus smart contracts to pool ADA, Cardano-native assets and supported stablecoins. Suppliers receive qTokens that represent their claim on underlying liquidity plus accrued interest; ADA suppliers can also receive delegated network staking rewards under the protocol design. Borrowers lock eligible qTokens as collateral and pay variable interest without a fixed repayment schedule, but they must maintain a safe health factor. If collateral value falls or debt grows past the threshold, third-party liquidators can repay debt and seize collateral with a penalty. Keeping positions in contracts instead of at a bank does not remove smart-contract, oracle, liquidity or governance risk. Before depositing, review the exact market, utilization-based rate model, reserve and origination fees, supply and borrow caps, collateral factor, liquidation threshold and bonus, oracle sources, bad-debt handling, emergency controls and audit scope. Stablecoin markets add issuer and bridge risk, while thin Cardano-native assets can produce sharp oracle moves and insufficient liquidation liquidity. LQ holders can vote directly or delegate voting power over parameters and protocol development. Staking, rewards, revenue allocation and buybacks depend on current contracts and governance decisions rather than a fixed dividend. Verify the canonical Cardano policy ID, total and circulating supply, emissions and vesting, governance quorum, treasury keys, proposal execution, staking custody, liquidity and concentration. qTokens are distinct from LQ and should not be sent or valued as the governance token. A published audit reduces known-code risk but cannot guarantee every upgrade, oracle or market. LQ is not a stablecoin, a deposit claim or insurance against lender loss and liquidation.
