Diamond (DMD) review

Diamond is the native coin of DMD Diamond, a community-run blockchain that began in 2013 and put its EVM-compatible DMDv4 production network into operation in October 2025. DMDv4 combines Honey Badger Byzantine Fault Tolerance with delegated proof of stake and validator rotation based on POSDAO. A validator candidate must lock at least 10,000 DMD, no candidate may accumulate more than 50,000 DMD of total backing, and users can support candidates by delegating smaller holdings. The system selects a rotating active set for each epoch and divides rewards between validator operation and delegated stake. These rules aim to limit concentration, but security still depends on independent validators, correct client software, network connectivity, governance and the distribution of delegated voting weight. DMD has a maximum supply of 4.38 million coins created at the v4 genesis; unissued reward reserves and recycled fees support continuing rewards without minting beyond the cap. Holders of snapshot balances from DMDv3 can claim v4 coins at 1:1 through a dedicated contract. This is a chain migration, not an exchange for an unrelated token. Verify the snapshot address, destination, official claim contract and current claim percentage before signing, and use a small test because old wallets and v4 EVM addresses follow different software paths. DMDv4 uses chain ID 17771 and is not an ERC-20 contract on Ethereum, even though its addresses and smart contracts are Ethereum compatible. Check the current node release, validator set, staking lock and withdrawal rules, reward contract, DAO powers, audits, explorer status, bridge support, exchange deposit network and liquidity. A finite supply does not guarantee demand, and a recently launched production network can face client bugs, limited tooling and validator concentration. DMD is not a stablecoin or claim on diamonds and staking rewards remain exposed to price, uptime and protocol risk.
